disk management through terminal/X11

Just being curious and trying to learn so i can say that i know.
The only thing that i cannot do through terminal is disk management. whether .dmg or cd's, i have not been able to find a tutorial on how to mount, unmount, and/or eject disks. Does anyone here know how to do it or where to look?
Thanks
