Well, call the files with 'vimdiff', or one can put a buffer in vim into diff mode with :diffthis or :diffoff , or even map keystrokes to toggle the diff mode (a quick websearch can detail how to do that... I'd post the URL where I found it, but I don't have enough posts to do that yet)

The best editors are working with ftp UltraEdit, GWD Edit, and Notepad++
