xf - transparent filter
Syntax
/usr/lib/lpdfilters/xf
Description
The filter is a transparent filter. The filter simply concatenates data directly to the printer. The filter may be used with any printer.
This filter allows device specific escape characters and control sequences to reach the printer.
There are no command line arguments passed to the filter by and the filter does not maintain any accounting information.
The filter should be specified in the xf field of the file. For further information, see It is invoked when the -x option is used with the
command to print a job. Prior to its invocation the filter specified in the of field is invoked to print the banner page upon completion it
is stopped and the filter sends the job to the printer.
