NAME
rnusers(), rusers() - return information about users on remote machines
SYNOPSIS
DESCRIPTION
returns the number of users logged in on
host or -1 if it cannot determine that number. The host string is either the official name of the host or an alias for it.
See hosts(4) for more information regarding host names.
fills in the structure with data about host and returns 0 if successful. The field is limited to eight characters on Berkeley systems,
so the HP-UX XDR routine truncates from 12 characters to 8. The macro does not exist in the HP-UX file; therefore, HP-UX
windows appear as separate users.
The relevant structures are:
struct utmparr { /* RUSERSVERS_ORIG */
struct utmp **uta_arr;
int uta_cnt;
};
struct utmpidle {
struct utmp ui_utmp;
unsigned ui_idle;
};
struct utmpidlearr { /* RUSERSVERS_IDLE */
struct utmpidle **uia_arr;
int uia_cnt;
};
