XDestroyWindow() XDestroyWindow() Name XDestroyWindow - unmap and destroy a window and all subwindows. Synopsis XDestroyWindow(display, w) Display *display; Window w; Arguments display Specifies a connection to an X server; returned from XOpenDisplay(). w Specifies the ID of the window to be destroyed. Description If w is mapped, an UnmapWindow request is performed automatically. The window and all inferiors (recursively) are then destroyed, and a DestroyNotify event is generated for each window. The ordering of the DestroyNotify events is such that for any given window, DestroyNo- tify is generated on all inferiors of the window before being generated on the window itself. The ordering among siblings and across sub- hierarchies is not otherwise constrained. The windows should never again be referenced. Destroying a mapped window will generate exposure events on other windows that were obscured by the windows being destroyed. XDestroyWin- dow() may also generate EnterNotify events if w was mapped and contained the pointer. No windows are destroyed if you try to destroy the root window. Errors BadWindow See Also XCreateSimpleWindow(), XCreateWindow(), XDestroySubwindows(). Xlib - Window Existence XDestroyWindow()
