NAME
killsm - kill the sendmail daemon
SYNOPSIS
DESCRIPTION
reads the pid file to get the pid number of the currently running daemon, and then kills that daemon. The pid file is specified using the option in the file. If this option is not set, uses file as the default pid file. If the daemon is not killed instantaneously, will not exit until the daemon is terminated or after a time interval of 10 seconds. The command does the same thing as HP recommends that system administrators use and to start and stop these startup scripts are used when the system is booting to start Advanced system administrators can put into their search path and just reference to start and to stop it.
