NAME
phoned - DECnet phone server daemon
SYNOPSIS
phoned [options] Options: [-dvVh] [-u user]
DESCRIPTION
phoned is a daemon that serves phone clients. It must be running for any users to the phone command.
OPTIONS
-u Specifies the username that phoned runs as. By default this is "nobody". If this user does not exist then phoned will run as root which could be a security hole. NOTE that phoned must be started as root to allow it to bind to the phone DECnet object. -d Don't fork and run the background. Use this for debugging. -v Verbose. The more of these there are the more verbose phoned will be. Don't use more than one for normal operation because it will seriously impair performance. -h -?
