NAME
utf8migrationtool - UTF-8 locale migration tool
DESCRIPTION
utf8migrationtool is a wizard that simplifies upgrading a Debian system towards UTF-8 locales. First it updates the login configuration (in ~/.dmrc) so the default locale uses UTF-8 encoding, then it checks every filename under the user's home directory and converts it to UTF-8 if needed. Note that it only affects filenames, not file contents.

USAGE
utf8migrationtool is run from the Desktop Environment's menu.
AUTHORS
Tollef Fog Heen <tfheen@canonical.com> created the utility in 2005. Martin-Eric Racine <q-funk@iki.fi> wrote this manual page and the desktop menu in 2006.
