Hi
I have server with 48 cpus running SUN os.
I have loaded with enough tasks. But I could see my CPU utilization is very less compared to kernal's cpu utlization.

I am working on Oracle 2 node RAC 10.2.0.4 on Solaris 10 T2000 kit.
The box has around 32G of memory of which 24G is used by oracle user. There is 3G of free memory on the box.

just wanted to ask if there's a way to check what causes the high cpu utilization of a server for the past 2 months? My jffnms report resulted to high utilization for a specific server last month. is there a way to check via a command line?

I am using below command to do zone capping
#zonecfg -z zone1
zonecfg:zone1>
zonecfg:zone1>add capped-cpu
zonecfg:zone1>capped-cpu> set ncpus=2
zonecfg:zone1>capped-cpu> end
zonecfg:zone1> commit
zonecfg:zone1> exit
