X-Server without KDE

Hi,

i want to start the X-Server without KDE or other Window Manager.
I need the X Server vor a Java Applikation!

Perhaps anybody can help me how to start it simply.

if your using kdm then you should be able to select different x sessions. one of them being just x with no window manager.

and how to start X without a window manager direct from the shell (bash) ?

Most of the time I find that the KDE is being called from ~/.xinitrc.

You should be able to comment out the call to KDE or whatever else is being called from that configuration file.

Yes rename the .xinitrc in root's homedir, like auswipe said, and make an "xinit"
