pk-device-rebind - Device software reloader
SYNOPSIS
pk-device-rebind [--help]
DESCRIPTION
This manual page documents briefly the pk-device-rebind command.
pk-device-rebind is the command line client for reloading devices after firmware has been installed.
OPTIONS
This program follows the usual GNU command line syntax, with long options starting with two dashes (`-'). A summary of options is included
below.
--help
Show summary of options.
--verbose
Show extra debugging information.
--simulate
Don't actually poke the hardware, only simulate what would be done.
RETURN VALUES
0
Success, the device was reloaded
1
Failed with miscellaneous internal error.
3
Arguments incorrect.
4
Failed to write to device.

arista is a multimedia transcoder for the GNOME Desktop which allows user to encode audio and video streams for a wide variety of devices.
arista-gtk provides a simple user interface for the arista-transcode command.
arista-gtk has been written with Python and GTK+2, and after installing the application you can run it from the Applications menu.

This program follows the usual GNU command line syntax, with long options starting with two dashes (`-').
-h, --help
Show summary of options.
-v, --version
Show version of program.
-p PRESET, --preset=PRESET
Preset to encode to [default].
-d DEVICE, --device=DEVICE
Device to encode to [computer].
-s, --simple
Launch the simplified UI.

We have a lot of scripts using cut as :
cut -c 0-8 --works for cut (GNU coreutils) 5.97, but does not work for cut (GNU coreutils) 8.4.
Gives error -
cut: fields and positions are numbered from 1
