managed service reccomendations

Dunno If its ok to post this, but I am looking for a company to manage our linux server. If the company is a specialist in security issues then that would be ideal

Thanks

That depends on what you mean by "manage"...... what do you mean, exactly?

I have a dedicated server (linux). the in-house managed server product is not very good, so I want to get another company to do the Administration on the server (remotely)

Yes, that is a start, but you need to specify what "administer" means.

It is really hard to pick the right remote management company if you have not written down a list of what services you expect and what applications you need supported.

It is a LAMP application, for example?

Well since I am not an expert on this I find it hard to say exactly what would need to be supported, but yes, Linux Apache Mysql PHP, and all the bells and whistles that keep this all working updated, patched, security holes filled, fully configured proactively to avoid problems. Server monitoring to alert when problems occur, load balancing etc.

Is this called a fully-managed-service ? I want that

I use FastQ Communications - Innovative Internet Services Since 1993, I have 2 servers hosted there. But I manage them all myself, Im actually putting 2 new servers in today....

When you call tell them Kyle sent you.
