XtVaAppCreateShell() XtVaAppCreateShell() Name XtVaAppCreateShell - create a top-level widget that is the root of a widget tree, using varargs argument style. Synopsis Widget XtVaAppCreateShell(application_name, application_class, widget_class, display, ..., NULL) String application_name; String application_class; WidgetClass widget_class; Display *display; Inputs application_name Specifies the resource name of the shell widget. application_class Specifies the class name of this application. widget_class Specifies the widget class for the top-level widget. display Specifies the display. ..., NULL A NULL-terminated variable-length list of resource name/value pairs to override any other resource specifications. Returns A toplevel shell widget of the specified class. Availability Release 4 and later. Description XtVaAppCreateShell() creates a top-level shell widget that is the root of a widget tree and a resource name hierarchy (i.e. a widget that has no parent). It is identical to XtAppCreateShell() except that the args array of resource names and values and the num_args argument of that function are replaced with a NULL-terminated variable-length argument list. See XtAppCreateShell() for more information on this function. See XtVaSetValues() for more information on using variable-length argument lists to specify resources. Usage Most applications create secondary top-level shells with XtCreatePopupShell() which creates a widget in the same resource hierarchy as the rest of the application. Most applications can use XtAppInitialize() or XtVaAppInitialize() to initialize the toolkit and create their first shell.
