snd_gusc -- Gravis UltraSound ISA bridge device driver
SYNOPSIS
To compile this driver into the kernel, place the following lines in your kernel configuration file:
device sound
device snd_gusc
Alternatively, to load the driver as a module at boot time, place the following line in loader.conf(5):
snd_gusc_load="YES"
Non-PnP cards require the following lines in device.hints(5):
hint.gusc.0.at="isa"
hint.gusc.0.port="0x220"
hint.gusc.0.irq="5"
hint.gusc.0.drq="1"
hint.gusc.0.flags="0x13"
DESCRIPTION
The snd_gusc bridge driver allows the generic audio driver sound(4) to attach to Gravis UltraSound sound cards.
The value of flags specifies the secondary DMA channel. If the secondary DMA channel is C, set the flags to (C | 0x10). For a sound card
without the secondary DMA channel, the flags should be set to zero.
HARDWARE
The snd_gusc driver supports the following sound cards:
o Gravis UltraSound MAX
o Gravis UltraSound PnP

xxx: gus pcm not attached, out of memory There are not enough memory to drive the device.

sb_dspwr(XX) timed out. A command to the DSP has timed out. Check the I/O port configuration.
bad irq XX (5/7/9/10 valid) The IRQ given to the driver is not valid.

hey im having problems getting my sound to work, im running linux mandrake 8.0 and it detects the sound card but it will not play any sound if there are any ideas or slutions please let me know.-vassago (3 Replies)

i installed my sound drivers (which are onboard) with the following lines in my kernel
device pcm
options PNPBIOS
then cd /dev
sh MAKEDEV snd0
output from cat /dev/sndstat show the devicedriver (correct one)

I just got yet another PI! yay! :D . one problem... the sound/modem card is not detected by the kernel or even by windows PnP! i dunno of any UNIX driverDB online, but if you could point me to one, it would be fantastic! (4 Replies)

I have a problem with my integrated sound card AC97 on i815 and my version of FreeBSD is 4.5.I know that there is a driver for it called ich.c.gz,but the site containing it is unavaliable now.And is there another driver or some other ideas ?

Hi I have a new TP installed with RHEL 6.0, sound not working in this.
I tried to upgrade the kernel to 2.6.32-279.el6.i686 and also 2.6.32-279.19.1.el6.i686 but getting kernel panic with these kernels.
