NAME
lfc_getgrpbynam - get virtual gid associated with a given group name
SYNOPSIS

DESCRIPTION
lfc_getgrpbynam gets the virtual gid associated with a given group name. groupname specifies the group name. It must be at most 255 characters long. gid specifies the address of a buffer to receive the Virtual Group Id.
RETURN VALUE
This routine returns 0 if the operation was successful or -1 if the operation failed. In the latter case, serrno is set appropriately.
ERRORS
EFAULT groupname or gid is a NULL pointer. EINVAL This group name does not exist in the internal mapping table or the length of groupname exceeds 255. SENOSHOST Host unknown. SENOSSERV Service unknown. SECOMERR Communication error. ENSNACT Name server is not running or is being shutdown.
