SYNOPSIS
lightdm [ OPTION ]
DESCRIPTION
lightdm is a display manager.
OPTIONS -h, --help
Show help options
-c, --config=FILE
Use configuration file
-d, --debug
Print debugging messages
--test-mode
Run as unprivileged user, skipping things that require root access
--pid-file=FILE
File to write PID into
--xsessions-dir=DIRECTORY
Directory to load X sessions from
--xgreeters-dir=DIRECTORY
Directory to load X greeters from
--log-dir=DIRECTORY
Directory to write logs to
--run-dir=DIRECTORY
Directory to store running state
--cache-dir=DIRECTORY
Directory to cached information
-v, --version
Show release version

lrztar - Directory wrapper for lrzip
SYNOPSIS
lrztar [options] DIRECTORY
lrztar -d [options] DIRECTORY.tar.lrz
lrzuntar [options] DIRECTORY.tar.lrz
DESCRIPTION
lrztar is a wrapper for compressing and decompressing whole directories with lrzip(1) to corresponding file "DIRECTORY.tar.lrz". lrzuntar
is identical to "lrztar -d". lrztar takes the same options as lrzip.

See lrzip(1).

I need your help to understand about different processes(tty1,tty2,tty3...) running as root as shown below .What exactly these processes do?

In Ubuntu 12.04 LTS the gnome I have been using gdm and lightdm.
In lightdm the top and side bars are aka "unity" and can be removed using apt-get remove unity

Hi,
When I log in to RHEL machine using root login, I get the error as "rhel -bash: /bin/grep: cannot execute binary file" and this is also shown in the attachment here. Hello,
we have an problem on kubuntu16.04 that when i login with ldap, and it is my first login, nothing is copied from skel. With SSH it is working fine. Can anyone say we how KDE setup an new first userlogin? Tested with SDDM and Lightdm. Thanks a lot!

After upgrading from 14 LTS to 16 LTS the system started getting these hard lockups, where nothing works, can't get to it through ssh, or console.

I am trying to fire up a GUI in my Unix server as root
and it comes out with this error MobaXterm X11 proxy: Unsupported authorisation protocol
Error: Can't open display: localhost:11.0
