Hey all.

I want to connect my Linux box on the work network (I'm on-site support, so I'm allowed to ). I can login as root (or any other user) and get my IP which I want, browse the web as I've set the box up for that.

But what I want to do now is authenticate myself on the network so I can get e-mails. The Windows side of things is currently running on NT4.0 server with Excahnge 5.5.

I am running Fedora core 3

Also, Would I need to setup/configure samba to connect to the network drives?

For accessing Windows shares you will need to use Samba, but you won't need to do a great deal of configuration unless you plan on sharing files from your Linux box to Windows clients. You can fairly simply use the smbclient command to access shares using an FTP-client-like interface, or alternatively use smbmount and smbumount to mount the Windows share onto your local filesystem.

You can access Exchange servers using Novell (nee Ximian) Evolution - http://www.novell.com/products/evolution/
