Error Can not get wireless to register in linux mint?

I just installed linux mint 11 yesterday. I cannot get the wireless to register, it says that firmware is missing but I can not figure out how to make it work. I am still a newbie and would appreciate any help possible. Thank you.

lspci lists pci things. You do it by typing in 'lspci' as root. If you don't have it, you should install it because it's really necessary. I see a 'b43' in there, which may mean you have a broadcom chip, which may need proprietary drivers.

There's not a secret name for lspci as far as I know. Google finds nothing about installing it so I think it comes installed. Are you running lspci as root, or just sudoing it or what? When I mean as root I mean from a root console, not with sudo, because it may not be in your PATH. What happens when you do 'which lspci'?

It's lspci not ispci.
