hello

i would like to get a server so i may post websites on the web
do i have to pay a lot of money to use someone else's server or is there a way to turn a computer into a basic server
please help
i am trying to find the most inexpensive way to get my own domain up on the web
if this is not the place to find information on that subject will you please point me in the right way

Now this really depends on how much space you are likely to use. There are a number of places where you can set up your own web pages - but typically they will have limited storage space.... although most will allow you to pay for some additional space.

I can't tell you bout setting up your PC as a server for this purpose - although it is possible - but performance may be an issue if you're expecting much traffic.

One of the bummers with the free places (i.e. geocities, yahoo etc) is that they don';t allow your own domain name - it's always www.geocities.com/your_name_here sort of thing. (maybe not always - but I've got that issue)...anyway - search on google for free web hosting...see what you can find.
