not able to add nic in solaris 8
Hi Folks,

I've just installed solaris 8, but i cannot add my network card.
i've reboot the box, got into the configmode, and try'd to add a network card. but it doesn't work. I can't add a ip address to the card, an error occurs. Who do i add it.

Is this SPARC Solaris or Solaris x86?

Your kernel must be configurated to suppor the card. You can check this by looking at the console when the machine boots and see if the card is recognized by the kernel. OR, you can view the contents of the dmesg command.

If the kernel recognizes the card, then you have a configuration issue to address. If not, you have a kernel issue.

Well, the strange thing is, it's recognized (i've tried it with 4 nic's, 3 of them are recognized). But every type of configuration is rejected. It's a x86 box by the way.
