Free subdomain to my IP Address and Static IP

Hi all,

I would need to register a random free subdomain address and associate that to my IP Address. Any suggestion of a good service?

Also I don't have a static IP but i remember that there are services that automatically reset the right IP address behind the subdomain but i don't remember how to do that.

Also on a macbook pro is there a way to always have the same private IP?

Thanks!

Tameto

1. Dyn charges you now if I remember right... But you could try no-ip.com There, being free you have to connect monthly to renew unless you change of idea and pay a little charge...
2. I dont get you here... if you want a fix IP on your macbook, you just set it as fix... in other words you enter manually a correct IP, its netmask etc... instead of using DHCP...
The question is more what can your router manage - can be configured( a range left fix and a range it controls for DHCP...)
