I am trying to set up a linux box as a router, but I am a little confused
on how to do this. I am using Red Hat 9.0 on a machine that has 2
nic cards. Also, I am using a DSL pppoe connection. I have installed
rp-pppoe and I am connected to the internet via the pseudo pppoe
interface. I have enabled port forwarding , so how do I determine
my internal network settings on the second nic? Should I continue
to keep eth0 down considering pppoe uses it? Any help would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have worked with xDSL routers working in bridged mode, and linux behind them working as a Firewall utilizing IPTABLES. My question is, how this will change if the xDSL router is replaced with a Cisco Router?
