SAM running slow

Any ideas on why SAM would take so long to load and initialize?

I will have to write 100 pages on the conditions under which sam ( for that matter any application ) may run slow. Why don't you share your findings here ? i.e. How loaded the system is ? , Are you running sam remotely or locally ..........

I think there is a thread which explains "how to ask a question in a forum" , please go through it. No hard feeling , just wanted to let you know.

top shows system running at %99 idle
im running sam on the console via the ethernet connection to the MP, so i guess that would be local... however i access the console remotley

hmmm maybe i should login directly to the box and run sam... since i beleive the MP is only 10megabyte card..

No idea. But glad to see that you identified the problem. I would rather not run SAM on the MP console for many reasons,

1. The terminal emulations dont really work at times.
2. It is slow
3. By default system errors are directed to the console and it can mess up your sam window
