If routing were broken then even ping wouldn't work.
ping and showmount -e work but not rpcinfo, so there must be something special with port 111/udp. Perhaps with both 111/udp and 111/tcp.
Could you please on both NFS clients test 111/tcp with
Code:
telnet 10.1.2.82 111

?

Ping would work if there was another 10.1.2.82 the other side of a gateway through which the ping was being routed; eg, on the internet. We all know that using 10.x.x.x as local ip addresses has its problems.

And why is 10.1.2.8 showing in a table as a gateway if it's not a gateway?

@hicksd8, this is the standard entry that is automatically done for each interface, traditionally with "ifconfig", and showing the effective network (well, the exact notation would also show a /x).
Every packet for a destination 10.1.x.x goes to interface lan0. There is no router necessary because layer 2 should do it.

A problem, not relevant here, might be the missing "default" route for packets that go to a destination outside 10.1.x.x and 192.168.2.x - it might pick a random interface.

The result are :
Code:
intabck:/>telnet 10.1.2.82 111
Trying...
Connected to 10.1.2.82.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.

For the sake of argument can you new make nfs share, and share it without limits (no hosts or ip address defined).
Then try to mount that share on non-working client to see if the same error occurs.

I suspect this is somehow related in term that nfs client when mount is issued probably tries to go over wrong subnet (from where NFS server is not available 192.x.x.x, hence the error).

tcpdump well help you determine that, if you have it installed.
Capture traffic in file and analyze with wireshark or similar tool.

Is the routing table same on clients on which NFS mount works ?

Hope that helps

Peasant.

If you do as Peasant suggests and set up a new NFS share, then also allow root access to all (temporarily of course) to ensure that security settings are nothing to do with this problem. Give it root, not just rw.

A sharing/permission issue would give immediate "permission denied", wouldn't it.
The netstat clearly states that packages for the NFS server go via the correct interface. Unless there is a severe bug in the client IP stack.
Code:
tcpdump -i interfacename port 2049 or port 111

is a good analysis here.
