HP-UX Ignire Restores

Trying to restore an ignite image. Get pre-install analysis errors. Nothing really being logged-is using my ignite configuration because it shows my "Configuration I have customized", shows my Environment. But when I click to show my summary it does not show the configuration for filesytems I configured via the impacts lines?
any help would be appreciated.

As Ignite is a separately licenced product from HP, I would suggest talking to them directly - assuming that you are paying the licence fee Smilie

You could start at this page Product Support and see how you get on.

HPUX Ignite

I'm pretty sure-ignite is part of the standard release-its on the install dvd.
and I was paying for support-don't u think I would have already contacted them? I don't have any software support, hence why I'm reaching out to this forum. I did ignite stuff-15/20 years ago-but it's been a long time. this should be easily do-able, I just need a little help. Thanks

15 years ago Ignite-UX was only just launched with HP-UX 10.XX ( adn not sure if it did not appear with 10.20... ) unless you had a series 700 which had an utility to make bootable tapes...How do you want us to help you when you have not even described your environment: box architecture, model, OS version etc..
You say you want to restore an image, from what device? ...
Was that "image" made from this <we dont know what> or is it from another server / Workstation etc...?
Because so far I never had to "click" when restoring from Ignite and I have been working with HP-UX since version 8.04... I have always been in front of a HP console for that and I can assure you its not GUI, only I have always worked with HP9000/800 servers...

I'm "testing" in a desktop-mode environment for now. 11.11 os.. hp workstation b2000.. created the ignite image-trying to restore it. it tries-finds my config file.. appears to start-but fails the pre-install analysis..

created the ignite image
On what?
Did you have a look at the logs make_recovery generates?
If I were you I would start again using the -v (verbose) and -i option and see if its successful from beginning to end...
Then it will depend on how you configured the system for booting, for that you will have to boot to ISL ( interrupting normal boot process and check if you are using a tape that it is put as boor device etc...)

ignite-problems continued

I'm trying to see if there are logs being created somewhere that I don't know of.. I'm booting off the network successfully...it sees the ip for my box and for the server:
it sees my "product" - Titled Golden Image-all looks good-except it's ignoring the "impacts" line in my golden-image_cfg file... so if it's logging errors when it gets to the "pre-install" analysis-that would be my 1st debugging step.. I'm doing a boot lan install and all goes well until the pre-analysis phase.
