Hi guys i am new for hp-ux. any one guide me how to take online scbackup in hp-ux server version 11.11

What are you defining as an SC backup? I'm not sure what you want. If it's a backup to media that you can take to a similar machine at a DR site and recover your OS with, then the HP software is called Ignite. You may need to talk to HP about getting it though as it is a licenced product and might incur a cost.

If it's something else that you want, can you explain what you need?

I want to take a backup and entire backup files should be kept in one folder . I am using customized Hp-UX server version 11.11. any one please help me to how to take a backup.

i tried to take online backup using following command in 11.11 server

Code:

scbackup -a /home/back

It ended with error

Code:

 ERROR:     make_media_install.NO_TAPE
Anyone guide me what to do......

It is going to be difficult to help you as I have never heard of scbackup, and sure its not a HP-UX standard command, you may have to ask the vendor and go through its documentation... Unless its a home made script in which case you would have to show us the content so we can understand...
