Dear Gurus

I have rx6600 with hpux 11.31 it has issue with RAID i.e. as I plugged 300 GB it recognizes the disks but as i try to configure RAID its gives error below

"ERROR: Unable to add a RAID volume: Bad address."

on 146G hard disk RAID is configured successfully but in case of 300 GB RAID is unable to create. Need help urgently

I thought only RAID1 was supported on RX6600....

I am creating RAID1 with two disk i.e with 300 GB but it gives error which is as follows

ERROR: Unable to add a RAID volume: Bad address

What's the advantage to doing RAID 1 in hardware? I would think that an LVM mirror would achieve the same thing, and it's a lot more flexible and manageable.

rx6600 can take a special version of SmartArray card that supports RAID 1, 5, and 6. If you're using the EFI firmware RAID feature, then yes it can only do RAID 1, and it can only make a limited number of arrays (2 or 3 I think). LVM mirroring would be a much better choice over the EFI RAID.
