The output is exactly where you put it, passwordfile.lis If you can't find it after, give it /path/to/passwordfile.lis

I didnt get you what you are saying... i searched for the passwordfile.lis file in /app/interface/home where i ran it , i could not find out . pls advice.

The password is not stored in the files, but in a database? Which database, how is it known if the file is protected, etc?
