These three finds worked as expected:
$ find . -iname "*.PDF"
$ find . -iname "*.PDF" \( ! -name "*_nobackup.*" \)
$ find . -path "*_nobackup*" -prune -iname "*.PDF"
They all returned the match:
./folder/file.pdf
:b:
This find returned no matches:

Have you tried running the command below? On the same RHEl 6.8 or 6.6. It will give you different output.
find . -maxdepth 1 -ctime -7 -type f
rpm -qa|grep find
findutils-4.4.2-9.el6.x86_64
# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.8 (Santiago)

I have a bunch of random character lines like ABCEDFG. I want to find all lines with "A" and then change any "E" to "X" in the same line. ALL lines with "A" will have an "X" somewhere in it. If I enter (simplified):
find . -printf "%p\n"
then all files in the output are prepended by a "." like
./local/share/test23.log
How can achieve that
a.) the leading "./" is omitted
and/or
b.) the full path to the current directory is inserted (enclosed by brackets and a blank)... (1 Reply)

I have line in input file as below:

My expected output for line in the file must be :
