maintenance level

Hello

I have a question.

I have several box with

$ oslevel -s
5300-06-01-0000

My questions are:

1.-How long I can keept my actual technology level (in time) before I updated to the next technology level?

My other question is If I have to update to the next technology level.

2.-First I have to update to the last service pack of my actual technology level or I can update no matter in which service pack I am. to the next technology level and the last service pack?

Thanks again for your comments

If you can live with the probs resulting from that fixlevel you can stay at it forever.

Depends entirely on you and whether you want support from IBM related to the os.

You could get in one step from TL6 sth. to TL8 sth. You even could update to TL8 right after installing ML1. An ML/TL includes all the updates of the former packs. Basically by updating an ML/TL you exchange the whole operating system. However the bigger the step the bigger the preparations for the update will be. E.g. you might need to update the server's microcode before you can boot from the latest TL.
