Re-intializing the file after editing

Hello guys,

Could you please help me to re-intialize a file after editing.

the file name is called .profile . I copied this file to my desktop using FTP and editted this file.

I copied this file back to AIX server using ftp and I want to reintialize it. Could you please list down the steps how to do that.

Appreciate your help.

Regards,

Ronit.
