Yes been through all that:

Code:
huedgedv:webmeth /opt/edgftp/cndm3ftp $which logname
/usr/bin/logname

-r-xr-xr-x   1 bin      bin            2442 Jun 09 2005  /usr/bin/logname
huedgedv:webmeth /opt/edgftp/cndm3ftp $file /usr/bin/logname
/usr/bin/logname: executable (RISC System/6000) or object module

After some of our admin guys had a look, it turns out to be a bug with the version of OpenSSH we had installed.

So we've updated from 3.9.1.0 to 4.3.2.1 and it's fixed the problem.

Thanks for sharing with us your fix, now we are aware of this possible issue with openssh...( nerver thought of that...)
