Hi everybody
i was wondering too if i could run AIX on an x86 machine for testing before i actually spend money to buy an rs6000 or something similar. I would really like to learn aix but before i buy an aixbox i want to know what aix looks like, how does it work, is it the best solution for my needs, etc.
So while searching on the internet i came across the following screenshots which i believe (correct me if i'm wrong) show an aix environment in a "WINDOWS" window on someone's pc.
Random Garbage Generator :: AIX 5.3 screenshots :: September :: 2007
Is that possible? i've been searching for a windows-to-ppc emulator, that can actually run aix, on the internet for more than a month and all the answers i got were "it is not possible for aix to run on an x86" and "go buy an rs6000 or something similar". I tried pearpc emulator but it doesnt recognize the aix cd as bootable so i can't install it :/
Does anyone have a solution? i'd really appreciate it, since for me here in greece to buy a used rs6000 would mean to order it from abroad and pay a lot of money on the shipping proccess or going abroad yourself and get it.
Thanx in advance
