Reference FTP Server Unable to Login

FTP Server in P590 machine was unable to login, Torwing error while login.

Tried to change password through maintenance mode by running AIX 5.3 OS CD, But CD row was unable to detect for the particular LPAR.

Please Suggest ASAP.

Can you clarify a little more please.
  • Is the CD drive allocated to the LPAR?
  • Why do you need to change the password this way?
  • Is the AIX box the client or the server for the FTP?
  • Do you have an HMC or IVM to manage your LPAR(s)?
  • Can you login normally?
  • Is the password expired and requires to be changed? FTP will refuse in this case.
  • What errors do you get?
  • Is the LPAR usable at all?
Sorry for all the questions. I just don't want to go off track over something possibly simple.

Gonna need a lot more information than that to help you mate.

What was the error it was Torwing?
Was it an FTP login, an AIX console, telnet or ssh login, Etc.
Was the CD assigned to the correct LPAR.... I'm guessing not....

Actually problem was not with login, User name and pswd is correct But some shell is corrupted so login was expiring immediately,So need to run OS and rebuild its shell.

At present CD-Rom is not defined to particular LPAR need to move CD-Rom from other LPAR to this LPAR. This process has been completed and also rebuild of shell completed successful.

Now FTP was logging without any error.

Thanks a ton for all your valuable inputs.
