Error mget is stuck


below are the commands I use to get many gif files from /usr/local/images directory, the command just getting stuck at mget, nothing is moving

cd /usr/local/images
mget *.gif:wall:

how many .gif files are you talking about? dozens? thousands?

few hundreds, roughly around 350.

that may be too many for mget to handle.

Is a list of the files available in any way?

Are there other means of access available, like ssh?
