[Solved] CIFS Mount not mounting on my AIX server

Dear Experts,

Im facing a unique situation. We got a windows server folder cifs mounted on my AIX server. Before restarting the win server I tried unmounting the cifs mount. It got hanged and win server was restarted however.
Now Im trying to mount the same. It prompts for password and executes it as well but not geting mounted.

Please help me on this issue if any one can understand this issue.

Can you do the below steps and check it

1) check at wondows end ,whether the id is working with passwd credentails given to you or not /check the id disabled or not at windows end

If it works fine then try the below things

1) take back up of /etc/cifs_fs/cifscred
2) Remove the credentials of your id which was used for the earlier mount

rmcifscred -h <windows server name> -u <windows user id>

3) Try to mount the filesystem freshly now with the correct credentials

Thanks Ram,

It worked. I checked with windows end and found they have changed the permission for that particular folder to be cifs mounted. That was an accident actually due to which it was not brought to our notice.
Thanks for the valuable input. It really helped me learn further. Great full for ur thoughts!
