I have a quick question regarding POWER HA ( HACMP ) 5.5 ;

I have four ethernet adapters
en0
en1
en2
en3

en0 is configured as BOOT_IP with IP address

all other ethernet adapters are empty en1 / en2 / en3

so when I configure the service IP and start HACMP , the service IP automatically gets added to en0

I want the service IP to start on en1 or en2 ?

how could I do that ?


Also, the other problem i am facing is with disk heart beat
I have aix 6.1 with TL04 ( latest one) and HACMP HA 5.5

I have a hearbeat shared disk configured on both nodes. with same major number and pvid id. export and import vg works fine with a filesystem.
renamed the log file in the vg....

Storage is IBM DS5020

But Automatic discovery for communication devices doesn't show up the shared disk ?

i wanted to configure it for heart beat ? anyone faced same problem ?

You need to put an IP address on en1 and en2 as HACMp uses IP Aliasing. Look in the manual for the requirements on how to set it up.

yes, that's true. By giving the ip to the interface I can select the interface for service ip ;

My question is without the IP can i still select the interface for Service IP ?

In POWER HA 5.5 there is a new feature called IP distribution ?



2nd Question: For disk heart beat, it is must the VG should be enhanced concurrent ??

Yes, for the disk heart beat it is must that the VG has to be enhanced concurrent otherwise it will be not detected through automatic discovery.
