Well I guess I'm stupid I googled it and found it here

http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/jds/...ails/6329.html

but apparently this HCL is for JDS only and doesn't cover Solaris. Hey I said I was a noob. Well everything else seems to be working, so if I get one of the NICs from the Solaris HCL and install it, should that work? And also, does Unix or Solaris have a Windows "device manager" type thing? How can you tell what devices and drivers are installed on the system?

We take tape backup regularly. We refer to the tape drive by some typical name /dev/rmt/c201d1. What does it signify? The same type of name is used for the CDROM drive. How one can find out the name used to refer the device drive? Can one change this? (1 Reply)
