Disabling password aging
• The easiest way to disable password aging is to set
the defaults in /etc/default/passwd to:
MAXWEEKS=8000
MINWEEKS=0
WARNWEEKS=0
• Any large number can be used for MAXWEEKS
• To turn off password aging for a specific user set
the -x option (max age) to -1. Setting -x to 0
disables aging and forces a password change at the
next login.

Hi All,
Is this true on chage command?
-M, MAX_DAYS
Passing the number -1 as MAX_DAYS will remove checking a password's validity.
Does this means password will not expire anymore?
Thanks for any comment you may add. (0 Replies)
