Hi,
Yes it is possible to masquerade the root user name as that of someone else.
I think you'll need the following in your senmail.cf file:
Kgenerics hash -o /etc/mail/genericstable
FG/etc/mail/genericsdomain
the /etc/mail/genericstable file contains the user names you want to alter
and is in the format below:
#oldusername newusername
root@yourmachine someelse@yourmachine.com
note you'll need to create a db file for genericstable file:
makemap hash genericstable.db <genericstable
The /etc/mail/genericsdomain file contains hostnames that you want masquerade.

the image is not displaying in the mail box.
all the mime content stuff is displaying.
all the headers are proper.

we have two mail servers and want to setup failover for DR.
we have a line in sendmail.cf like this
DS smtp.domain.com
and this works fine......
we changed it to
DS smtp1.domain.com smtp2.domain.com
this is bad, we get errors of savemail panic and many bounce messages... (1 Reply)

sendmail -f user-host@xyz.com -s "Some Message" -t abcd@xyz.com
It throwed a message
-s... User unknown
Message... User unknown
Some... User unknown

I am running SCO 5.0.6 and using sendmail 8.11.0 and having issues with smtp authentication. When trying to send mail the following message will kick back.

1 as a MSP, and the other as the real daemon or MTA.
In my current configuration,
the sendmail-client is disabled.
Both submit.cf and sendmail.cf are left as default untouch

pygm2n - Python Gateway mail to news SYNOPSIS
pygm2n -n newsgroups [ -s newsserver ] [ -h ] DESCRIPTION
IMPORTANT: this man page is to be continued. The Whole pyg gateway is in devel. state. try -h option for more detailed option. pygm2n reads from stdin an email, sending it to newsgroups, a comma separated list without spaces of newsgroup names (at least one), rfc799 compliant. If pygm2n reads from stdin a sigle line starting with /, it is considered an absolute path to a single-email mailbox, so pygm2n will open and read it. Note that now pyg can't read a real mailbox, with many emails. If you give it in input, pyg will post the whole mailbox as a single email. EXAMPLES
There is some documetation in /urs/share/doc/pyg I created mailgate user (moderator of local.moderated ng). Subscribe to a list with this user (or simply email one message to). Every email posted to this user will send to newsgroups, in its .procmailrc I've put something like: :0 bh * ^From *mailinglist-request@lists.debian.org | $HOME/pygm2n -n local.debian.mailinglist AUTHORS
