When you wrote the code you introduced an extra space in then unset CNT[ $JOBID] make sure that it is as unset CNT[$JOBID] with no space between the first [ and the $

There is a text file, that contains hierarchy of menues, like:
Aaaaa->Bbbbb
Aaaaa->Cccc
Aaaaa-> {spaces} Ddddd (it means that the full path is Aaaaa->Cccc->Ddddd )
Aaaaa-> {more spaces} Eeeee (it means that the full path is Aaaaa->Cccc->Ddddd->Eeeee )

I'm trying to strip any garbage that may be at the end of my text file and that part is working. The problem only seems to be with the really long lines in the file.
