Reason to keep old /var/opt/perf/datafiles/logproc files
Would there be a reason to keep old logproc files that have been tarred up for any longer than a few days?

AM in need of some plugin/script that can monitor HP-UX file "/var/opt/resmon/log/event.log" .
Have written a scrip in sh shell that is working fine for syslog.log and mail.log as having standard format, have interrogated that to Nagios and is working as I required .

I am trying to find the number of cache misses that are caused by my code. The best way I could find was to use the perf command. After running command: perf stat dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/null count=100, the output I got is:

I'm not able to run perf on linux 4.4. I'm using ubuntu 15.10.
The error I'm getting is:
