hi Chubler_XL, though i think this is already working perfectly fine, is it possible to do some final adjustments/modifications to this code?
it seems that the script works when you have key values that are used for grouping the data before summing, right?
is it possible to have the script sum the data without the key values?
remember before, we made $3 into a CSV , right?
is it possible to add into the script where in,
are inputted, without the key columns?
so that, it will just basically sum those two columns from the whole file without grouping?
Thanks for your help again, i hope you still reply. thanks a lot

hi there again, just want to let you know that you're script was a tremendous help to me.
i was able to use it to different types of input files by just changing this part
depending on the field i want to compare.
i've already done it to 7 types of files, and i changed that particular code in those 7 files. it's so cool.
Although, is there some way to compile/put all these 7 scripts into just one?
so that when i use this as one compilation script...
it will just ask which script do i want to use from script_1 to script_7?
like
it would be really cool, if it's possible since they are just in one script/file.
and it would save me a lot from looking for which script i should execute..
i accidentally interchange them from time to time.
Thanks(X10000000) again man.. and i apologize for all the trouble. but i really am grateful to you man.
i have the following perl script.but it searches for a given filename.
i want to run the same script in my directoy which has subdirectories too and it has to display the file if sreach satisfies along with directory name.
