Hello,
I'm running Red Hat Linux on a Dell Poweredge 2650 Rack Server and wondered if anyone knew of a tool or command I could use to probe the memory slots on the motherboard.
I know the machine has six memory slots and currently contains 1GB RAM, what I don't know however, is if it contains... (3 Replies)
Has anyone ever relocated an HBA card after already having it configured in another PCI slot? I've found that the HBA instance #'s start incrementing past the previous. It results in me having to have my instance numbers in /kernel/drv/qla2300.conf be 4,5,6,7 instead of 0,1,2,3. Cleanup with... (5 Replies)
I've got lots of scsi transport errors on the E2900 - the HBA was replaced once out of curiosity but the problem still exists.

I'm looking for open PCI slots in our array of sun boxes. I need help on how to distinguish if there's an open slot or not using prtdiag and prtconf. Is there a better tool for this? TIA.

A while back I had a command that shows the memory slots (and info on the modules inserter) in an IBM AIX machine. I cannot remember it at this time, can someone help me out with this command please? (4 Replies)
Hi, all. I was wondering if there's a command or log file that will tell me how much RAM is in the system and, more specifically, the size of each stick.
Thanks,

Hi,
I have a Sun Fire V440 server that fails to boot up correctly. A lot of services are not started and the sytems acts really slow to commands. During boot I can see the following Error:

GENFB(4) BSD Kernel Interfaces Manual GENFB(4)NAME
genfb -- generic framebuffer console driver
SYNOPSIS
genfb* at pci?
genfb* at sbus?
wsdisplay* at genfb?
DESCRIPTION
The genfb driver provides support for generic framebuffers that have no native driver. All it needs are some parameters to describe the
framebuffer and an address.
PCI
When attaching to a pci(4) bus the driver is configured via device properties:
width (uint32)
Width in pixels.
height (uint32)
Height in pixels.
stride (uint32)
Line size in bytes.
depth (uint32)
Bits per pixel.
is_console (bool)
If true, genfb will try to become the system console.
address (uint32)
Bus address of the framebuffer.
SBus
When attaching to sbus(4) all those parameters are retrieved from the firmware.
SEE ALSO pci(4), sbus(4), wscons(4), wsdisplay(4)BUGS
There is no way to change the color map even when the firmware supports it. The pci(4) bus frontend has only been tested on macppc, i386,
and amd64 and requires machine dependent code to pass the properties mentioned above. So far only macppc, i386, and amd64 provides them.
