Thanks for the reply. Yes, this code is working... But isn't there any other way without using this option- python ? Simply using unix shell script, for/while loop or sed/awk ?

I want to detect each new file coming / getting created in unix directory.
When every new file came to directory, i have to get its details like its size , date and time stamp and store it into another file.

For each unique entry in column 1 I want to add values in column 2 and column3
