one more way:

the :12,90 s/^/ / is used in command mode.

if you want to achieve this in escape mode. see the following steps.

1. place your cursor in 12th line.
2. in escape mode press Ctrl + v then press key "j" up to 90th line .
3. press "I" then give two space then press escape.
