I'm trying to write a routine to parse a file that contains data that will be read
into arrays. The file is composed of labels to identify data types and arbitrary
lines of data with the usual remarks and empty new lines as is common with
config files.
The initial pass is built as so:
Unfortunately, I seem to be having a problem trying to get the case statement to
recognise a new line, falling through to default. After searching, I was left
unenlightened. I tried inserting '^' and '$' before and after, inside and outside '\n'
but still no success. I also tried using '\f' and '\r' just in case it was a text editor
misinterpretation.
However, I did find alternative command line solutions, but I would prefer to keep
it purely bash and regex if possible.
Outside this process I built a file containing snmp response filtering for hostname, model type and ios version.
I want to get a count across the network of those devices running 11.x code, 12.0 mainline, 12.0 T train and above, 12.1 and above and OS levels.
This works ok .. but its cheap... (2 Replies)
It can get very annoying that bash regex =~ is case-sensetive, is there a way to set it to be case-insensetive?
if ]; then
echo match
else
echo no match

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but I want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything. I'm working on a log monitoring script and every 10 lines I want to display a summary of events. The thing is, there are a lot of possible events, that likely won't have happened, so I only want... Hello All,
I am writing a script that is to be placed on multiple servers, and of course I've started
running into some compatibility issues for certain shell commands.
The code below worked just fine on most of my machines except for a couple.
Here I had 4 separate lines in my script that... (3 Replies)
Hello All,
I'm in the middle of a script and I'm doing some checks with REGEX (i.e. using the '"shopt -s nocasematch"
that at least the first one should print "FALSE" but it prints "TRUE"..?
For Example:
#!/bin/bash
MY_VAR="HELLO"
### This prints "TRUE"

dbd::sponge
DBD::Sponge(3) User Contributed Perl Documentation DBD::Sponge(3)NAME
DBD::Sponge - Create a DBI statement handle from Perl data
SYNOPSIS
my $sponge = DBI->connect("dbi:Sponge:","","",{ RaiseError => 1 });
my $sth = $sponge->prepare($statement, {
rows => $data,
NAME => $names,
%attr
}
);
DESCRIPTION
DBD::Sponge is useful for making a Perl data structure accessible through a standard DBI statement handle. This may be useful to DBD module
authors who need to transform data in this way.
METHODS
connect()
my $sponge = DBI->connect("dbi:Sponge:","","",{ RaiseError => 1 });
Here's a sample syntax for creating a database handle for the Sponge driver. No username and password are needed.
prepare()
my $sth = $sponge->prepare($statement, {
rows => $data,
NAME => $names,
%attr
}
);
o The $statement here is an arbitrary statement or name you want to provide as identity of your data. If you're using DBI::Profile it
will appear in the profile data.
Generally it's expected that you are preparing a statement handle as if a "select" statement happened.
o $data is a reference to the data you are providing, given as an array of arrays.
o $names is a reference an array of column names for the $data you are providing. The number and order should match the number and
ordering of the $data columns.
o %attr is a hash of other standard DBI attributes that you might pass to a prepare statement.
Currently only NAME, TYPE, and PRECISION are supported.
BUGS
Using this module to prepare INSERT-like statements is not currently documented.
