I am using Solaris 8. My script outputs 4 .csv files. Currently I am SFTPing the files and creating a new excel file with the 4 files as sheets.
Can anyone suggest ways to do this in UNIX ?

i have a shell script which will generate the CSV files from a group of XML files.
but the XML files are in 50K plus. so the generated CSV files are more then 4 GB in size. is there any way i can take care in the scripting itself to make the shell script efficent to write data into CSV... (1 Reply)

My sample file is variable length, with out any field delimiters. It has min of 18 chars length and the 'CRLF' is potentially between 12-14 chars. How do I replace this with a space? I still want to keep end of record, but just want to remove these new lines chars in the middle of the data.
