Have you installed the Atape driver needed for LTO tape drive support on AIX?
lslpp -hac | grep -i atape
should find it.
Even without the driver I would expect AIX to configure the drive as "other scsi tape drive" or something similar.
The tape device will be rmt0 not mrt0 as shown in your last post.
Have you terminated the scsi bus correctly?
What does '# lscfg -vp l grep -i -p rmt' and '# lsdev -Cc tape' show?

I am a solaris noob. I have a SPARC enterprise T5120 server which i am trying to connect 1 StorEdge 3300 and 1 StorageWorks MSL2024 tape library. Each device is connecting to 1 pci card on the server. I can see the array when i run the format command but i can't seem to detect the tape library.

DESCRIPTION
This is a subclass of "Class::MOP::Method" which generates constructor methods.
METHODS
Class::MOP::Method::Constructor->new(%options)
This creates a new constructor object. It accepts a hash reference of options.
o metaclass
This should be a Class::MOP::Class object. It is required.
o name
The method name (without a package name). This is required.
o package_name
The package name for the method. This is required.
o is_inline
This indicates whether or not the constructor should be inlined. This defaults to false.
$metamethod->is_inline
Returns a boolean indicating whether or not the constructor is inlined.
$metamethod->associated_metaclass
This returns the Class::MOP::Class object for the method.
