I read there is two posibility
1.- backaup everything on the VG, delete the VG and the PV, recreate it and restore the data, but this is time consuming, and let the system down for a lot of time
2.- use the undocument command vgmodify, but this command do not came with the regular operating system (HP-UX 11.11), and I don't know where to download it.

Interesting!
vgmodify can do this and it is included with the most recent HP-UX version. It also seems to be in patch PHCO_35524, but that is for HP-UX 11.23. Try to get the lastest LVM commands patch for your OS and see if vgmodify is there.

I am running solaris 10 with Veritas. I want to extend a filesystem. It's an oracle partition (/ora12). How can I find out if there is space available to expand the filesystem and then how does one extend it.
I'm from the HPUX world and so LVM was always how I did things.
Thanks

stg-import
STG-IMPORT(1) StGit Manual STG-IMPORT(1)
NAME
stg-import - Import a GNU diff file as a new patch
SYNOPSIS
stg import [options] [<file>|<url>]
DESCRIPTION
Create a new patch and apply the given GNU diff file (or the standard input). By default, the file name is used as the patch name but this
can be overridden with the --name option. The patch can either be a normal file with the description at the top or it can have standard
mail format, the Subject, From and Date headers being used for generating the patch information. The command can also read series and mbox
files.
If a patch does not apply cleanly, the failed diff is written to the .stgit-failed.patch file and an empty StGIT patch is added to the
stack.
The patch description has to be separated from the data with a --- line.
OPTIONS
-m, --mail
Import the patch from a standard e-mail file.
-M, --mbox
Import a series of patches from an mbox file.
-s, --series

Ignore the applied patches in the series.
--replace

-b BASE, --base BASE
Use BASE instead of HEAD for file importing.
